Southern Impact MMA excited to announce that they are now an official Adopt A Cop BJJ affiliated gym. Adopt A Cop BJJ is a nonprofit, donation based program designed to allow active duty patrolling police officers to train at any affiliated gym while paying 100% of the officer's membership dues until they reach the rank of Blue Belt which is typically a 12 to 18 month process. The goal of Adopt A Cop BJJ is to give as many officers as possible a proficiency in grappling based combat arts. Police officers often find themselves in combative situations that can turn deadly and being a more skilled grappler can potentially save the lives of not only the officers but the suspects as well.   All sponsored officers will receive a membership to Non-Stop Fitness and will have the ability to attend law enforcement officer only classes as well as classes offered to the public. Southern Impact is also bringing aboard Brazilian Jiu Jujitsu black belt Andy Threlkeld as an additional instructor for the program. All the members of the Southern Impact team are looking forward to serving the law enforcement officers of the community with this additional training.
